Organization Details

Atlas Corps, started in 2006, is an international network of social sector leaders and organizations that promotes innovation, cooperation, and solutions to address the world’s 21st-century challenges. Our mission is to address critical social issues by developing leaders, strengthening organizations, and promoting innovation through an overseas fellowship of skilled nonprofit professionals. Profiled as a “best practice” in international exchange by the Brookings Institution and featured in the Washington Post as a model social entrepreneurship program, Atlas Corps engages global social change leaders committed to the social sector in 12- to 18-month, professional fellowships at US-based, mission-driven organizations to learn best practices, build organizational capacity, and return home to create a network of global changemakers.

Impact Story

Atlas Corps facilitates overseas fellowships for social change leaders from all over the world at US-based, mission-driven organizations in the nonprofit, private, and government sectors. The goals of the Fellowship are to provide professional development opportunities to the Fellows and to allow US organizations to learn from the perspective and expertise of these mid-career, global Fellows. During the 12- to 18-month Fellowship period, Fellows are also enrolled in an ongoing training program, our Global Leadership Lab. After their Fellowship, Fellows return to their home countries and regions to multiply knowledge by sharing the skills, effective practices, valuable experiences, and the global network of change makers they gained during the Fellowship.
