Description and Impact

As of 2018, we've entered an expansion phase and need support for a project to open new "rice stations" across the South West Region of Cameroon. We are looking for support to develop the details of this rice project and to find potential donors to fund it. To this end, we are looking for an experienced Agricultural (rice) Consultant, Researcher, or any Agronomist to help us develop a project proposal that allows us to expand our impact.

The ideal candidate for this project has related experience in developing projects farming Nerica Upland Rice (or any other rice varieties) as well as general fundraising experience.

This project will promote rice cultivation among 500,000 smallholder farmers in rural communities and regions, which will help reduce the importation of foreign rice into the country. This will in turn also increase the nutrition of children in the community and foster economic growth as well.

The selected candidate will work closely with the project manager to develop a feasible project proposal. This candidate will also be responsible for:

-Developing a rice project proposal for Nerica Upland rice

-Developing a fundraising strategy, including some execution of this strategy by the Experteer

-Establishing different Rice Stations across the six Divisions of South Western Cameroon

-Training the different farm groups who will participate in this project

-Designing a marketing strategy for this project.
