Social Impact Project for Full Stack Developer
How This Works
As part of the TRANSFORM Support Hub, you will learn how to advance your career while getting hands on experience on projects like this one.
Project Description and Impact
We founded our organization to harness the energy and skills of teachers worldwide in overcoming limited resources as a barrier to quality education. In 2017 we aim to have 400 UK and US teachers supporting 2000 teachers across 10 countries.
Experteers will work alongside our CTO product owner to take our web platform to the next level by:
- Improving UX.
- Helping build a back end to help us manage growing numbers of users.
- Implementing an a/b framework.
- Integrating a monitoring and evaluation dashboard which we aim to build with mapbox based on a tableau dataset.
Our site is built in Laravel, with React.js and we have integrated SalesForce to help support our growth. We use GitHub and scrum methodology.
Learning Opportunity
We are a fast growing social enterprise and we have a footprint across 10 countries. We have built a lean operating model and we will happily share with you how we have done that.
We enjoy working together and like to think of ourselves as a movement of globally engaged teachers.
If you work with us in Uganda, you'll get to see the wider grassroots development ecosystem we are part of.
If you work with us remotely, you'll experience using great technology, enabling integrations and working with smart people committed to achieving a social purpose.
Living Stipend
We will provide accommodation, food, transport and security. We have staff in London and in Uganda. We will take you on Safari to see tree climbing Lions! We can arrange gorilla tracking (you would need to fund permits)
If you are right person this is a role that could be based from either Uganda on remotely.
Our lodge in Uganda overlooks Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, has two bars and is a hive of activity. We have UK staff and volunteers based there throughout the year.
Additional Benefits
We will take you on a safari to see tree-climbing lions! We can arrange gorilla tracking (you would need to fund permits).
If you are right person this is a role that could be based from either Uganda on remotely.
