Project Description and Impact

The KUZA project was cocreated in 2021 in collaboration with 10 community groups in Karemo division in Siaya county. The project aims to build the capacities of these groups enabling them to transition from small holder sunsistent production to commercialized production in agriculture and cottage manaufacturing. The project involves continous community led data collection for analysis and application on possible interventions for their growth. The groups have received investment which is also tied to continous learning. In order to streamline their learning and data collection tools, we experimented with SMS learning however it is not as convenient for sending production information or financial records. We need to leverage existing tools to streamline the process to get the cooperatives to the next level required for further investment.

Learning Opportunity

The foundation has beeen working with communities to redesign rural economies. The nexperteer gets first hand experience on the efficacy of design thinking when it comes to creating sustainable solutions for community development.
