EY has collaborated with MovingWorlds to launch the EY Coaching Impact Enterprises Across the Globe Program, a dedicated initiative connecting impact enterprises with EY volunteers for up to 6 months of coaching and support.
As an EY Coach, you will:
Please note that this is not an advisory relationship. EY coaches will not make any decisions on behalf of the impact organization’s management or offer specific professional advice. Instead, you will bring your knowledge, skills, experience, and networks to help your entrepreneur consider their growth journey from different angles and arrive at their own conclusions.
It’s a unique and highly rewarding opportunity that will also enhance your professional leadership skills, build your confidence as a trusted advisor and grow your start-up network.
Head over to our Platform Navigation Guide for detailed, step-by-step guidance about how to find an impact enterprise to match with.
Our matching process is based on mutual
selection, meaning that an introduction request
needs to be initiated by you and then accepted
by the impact entrepreneur. As such, we ask that
you proactively look for and request
introductions to coaching projects that fit your
skills.
You can initiate multiple introduction requests
(and once accepted, scoping conversations) at
the same time, so to help you find the right
match more quickly we suggest making at least
2-3 introduction requests within your first few
days on the platform.
If you’re unable to find an impact entrepreneur to coach, or have questions about the process, the MovingWorlds team (match@movingworlds.org) will be available to provide additional support. You may also receive introduction requests from impact entrepreneurs, or suggestions from our team for coaching projects that fit your skills.
Some impact enterprises are more responsive than
others, usually due to capacity issues, so it
might take a couple of business days for them to
review your introduction and determine if they
would like to connect and learn more about how
your skills can support them.
We suggest giving them 3 days to review your
request and determine if they have a coaching
project that matches your skills. Our system
automatically follows up on unanswered requests,
so rest assured that these impact enterprises
are receiving nudges from us to respond to
you.
If your introduction request is close to expiring and you haven’t received a response, please reach out to our Match Team at match@movingworlds.org for additional support.
We suggest waiting 48 hours before following up on your email. If you still don’t receive a response within 24 hours of your follow up email, please reach out to our Match Team at match@movingworlds.org for additional support.
If at any point you get stuck, have questions, or need assistance, you can reach out to the MovingWorlds Match Team at match@movingworlds.org.
We will respond to your email within 2 business days. It is likely you will hear from us more quickly than that, but please allow us 2 business days to process your support request before following up.
Given the duration of this program and the time you’ll be committing to spend on a monthly basis, we recommend that you only match with one organization to ensure the best value for both you and the social entrepreneur you’ll be supporting.
Experteering is the word we coined for
skills-based volunteering - the combination of
the words expertise + volunteering. It is the
act of volunteering your expertise, skills,
experience, and time with organizations that
need it.
It's been featured in SSIR, Devex, HBR,
Forbes, FastCompany, and many more publications
as a way to develop new skills and make a real
impact!
Unlike other short-term volunteering models or voluntourism (which can erode dignity, create dependencies, and reinforce paternalism) the experteering model seeks to transfer skills and know-how to local groups already developing their own solutions to real problems. Rather than centering the needs of the volunteer, the experteering approach keeps the needs of the community being served at the heart of the work.
As part of this program, we ask that you complete your registration by September 15 if you are part of the Coaching Program, and January 17 if you are part of the AI for Social Impact Coaching Program. After that, you can explore the different impact enterprises looking for EY coaches on our platform and request introductions to them. Usually it takes about 10 days to confirm a coaching match, and we encourage you to refer to the timeline above for more deatiled guidance. If you need any support with matching, please email match@movingworlds.org.
