Templates and Guidance to Add Your Fellowship to LinkedIn

Congratulations for being accepted as a MovingWorlds Institute Global Fellow!

To help get the most of the Fellowship — and to show your participation in our growing community of changemakers around the world — we recommend the following best-practices for adding your Fellowship to your LinkedIn profile.

When to add the Fellowship to your LinkedIn profile

You will likely want to update your profile at least twice in your Fellowship. First when you are accepted to show your participation, and then a second time once you finish your capstone. (You may choose to do this more frequently after you develop your purpose statement and/or if you are actively job searching).

Where to add

We recommend you add the Fellowship in three places:

  1. "Experience"
  2. "Honors & Awards" sub-section of "Accomplishments"
  3. Volunteer experience (if you go Experteering as part of your Fellowship experience)

How to add it to the "Experience" section

  1. Navigate to edit your profile
  2. Scroll down to "Experience", and click on the + / add section
  3. Add a "Title". We recommend: "Global Fellow: MovingWorlds Institute Professional Fellowship" (You may want to customize this... i.e. someone working in social enterprise may want to say "Social Enterprise Fellow" or "Corporate Social Responsibility Fellow".
  4. Select "Company", which is "MovingWorlds"
  5. For "Dates", you can input what you feel best about. Some Fellows will do for the 6 months of their Fellowship, some for the entire length of time they are job searching, or others will leave it open-ended to show their ongoing participation in our community. We prefer the latter, but you should do what you feel best about.
  6. For description, you can use a template like this, or customize it to what feels best for you. Remember... we'll work together in workshops down the line, so if you're not sure, start with this general template, and then you can customize it later: Selected into a Global Professional Fellowship program for experienced professionals working to further develop global leadership, design thinking, shared-value, and social enterprise know-how. Our global community of Fellows works together to learn and share best-practices through case-based learning, exposure to thought-leaders, coaching & mentoring, and through highly skilled service project.
  7. Fill in other details that best represents you
  8. Return to your profile, and re-order your experience section in a way that feels best to you
