From Management Consultant to Impact Investing Economist - Interview with MovingWorlds Institute Fellow Davide #GlobalFellows

As our global community of MovingWorlds Institute Fellows continues to grow, it has been so fun to look back on all the amazing individuals who have contributed to the Fellowship thus far.

We have had the incredible opportunity to support 39 Fellows who are seeking to create a positive impact with their professional careers, and as part of our Institute, they get to do just that while contributing to the greater good.

More exciting than the press (like this in Fast Company) our program has been receiving, is the impact our Fellows are making around the world and in their own career. Our Fellows represent and serve the globe: joining from 16 countries, Experteering in over 14, and contributing thousands of hours, skills, and training to social enterprises in the field. The impact they are making is catalytic, and we had the opportunity to share one of those impact stories (and best practices) in Stanford’s Social Innovation Review.

To give you a better understanding of the transformational experiences Fellows underground during and after the Global Fellowship, I sat down to have a conversation with one of our alumni, Davide Strusani. Davide originally hails from Italy and has worked all over the globe for companies like Deloitte and T-mobile. During the Global Fellowship, Davide provided strategic operational support for a start-up social enterprise in Zambia, received mentorship from an executive coach, and explored human-centered design best practices with his cohort. After his Fellowship, Davide made a career transition into his current role as a principal economist for the World Bank, exploring how impact investing can be used to eradicate extreme poverty and boost shared prosperity in some of the hardest to reach places.
