Social Impact Project for STEM Curriculum Developer
Project Description and Impact
Phoenix Space is developing educational material in several areas for our refugee students based around the following topics: physics, mathematics, engineering, computer programming and technical problem solving. We have created one main STEM course which covers many areas of science and maths involved in space science, which we use to give our students key technical skills and inspiration to continue their education. Our students are located throughout the Middle East and often we are their only source of high-quality STEM education due to continued disruption due to economic and social problems compounded by the continuing Covid pandemic. Alongside this new course, we are developing shorter courses to teach problem solving, an academic competition, and continuing our successful lecture series.
We are looking for a curriculum developer to work closely with our education team to write new material for up-and-coming course, update previous materials by adding more content and demonstrations that can be completed by our students remotely, and come up with their own ideas to contribute towards our goal of inspiring, educating and empowering these students
By participating in the MovingWorlds Institute, you will first learn social impact frameworks and human-centered design before putting your existing skills and new knowledge to action.
