WISE is a grass root initiative founded in 2013 and registered by the Department of Social Services and Development, Republic of Kenya as WISE Community based organization. This is a women membership based grass-root organization that endeavors towards the economic empowerment of women and wetlands conservation through various sustainable enterprises. Our entrepreneurial interventions include green energy promotion, food security, preventive health and nutrition education, ecotourism, leadership incubation and nurturing, and ICT for women development The CBO has strong international, national and grass-root partnerships with community groups, non-governmental organizations, institutions and governmental departments and parastatal.

Impact Story
WISE impacts women through economic empowerment in various enterprises. To date, we have impacted in their lives and those of the communities as follows;
Green Energy (Smokeless Homes Initiative): Over 500 households using solar lamps and clean cook stoves
Group Savings and Loaning: Over 50 women groups ( Comprising of about 30 members each) undertaking savings and loaning
Ecotourism, Water hyacinth handcrafts: About 30 women undertaking these activities as alternative livelihoods.
ICT4 Development: Women currently undertaking digital literacy lessons at our WISE computer hub.
