Organization Details
School Farms is a national nonprofit organization based in Ghana, dedicated to transforming education through climate-smart agriculture and nutrition-focused learning. We work with rural schools to establish productive farm spaces and learning hubs that empower students with practical skills, food literacy, and entrepreneurial opportunities. Our mission is grounded in the CENS+ framework — promoting Climate Action, Education, Nutrition, and Skills development.
We connect classrooms to farms, students to markets, and knowledge to action — helping young people learn by doing, eat what they grow, and build sustainable futures.
Impact Story
We exist to address the lack of practical skills, food security, and positive perceptions of agriculture among rural youth in Ghana. Many young people face limited opportunities and see farming as unprofitable or outdated. Through initiatives like AgroMentoring, we connect youth with experienced agripreneurs, providing hands-on training in climate-smart agriculture, nutrition, and entrepreneurship. Our work helps young people gain practical skills, build confidence, and see agriculture as a pathway to livelihoods and leadership. The positive impact includes increased youth engagement in farming, reduced stigma around agriculture, improved access to nutritious food, and stronger community connections that foster resilience and self-reliance.
