Impact Story
Nasc was founded 25 years ago to support migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers in Ireland by promoting integration, social inclusion, and access to rights. Many migrants face barriers in navigating complex immigration systems, securing housing, employment, and education, and integrating into Irish society. Without support, these barriers can lead to increased risk of poverty and social exclusion. Nasc works to remove these obstacles through advocacy, direct support, and policy engagement, ensuring that migrants can fully participate in their communities.
Our impact is seen through thousands of individuals supported annually. We provide vital immigration casework and social assistance, helping people access protection, secure citizenship, and reunite with family members. Through initiatives like our national immigration helpline, outreach sessions, and advocacy programs, we empower migrants with knowledge and resources to navigate their rights and responsibilities.
Nasc also improve labour market integration by connecting migrants with employment, training, and education opportunities. We particularly target migrant women who are most at risk of economic disadvantage and young people who do not otherwise qualify for educational assistance receive tailored support to address specific needs. Our research and policy work influence national frameworks, fostering systemic change to create a more inclusive Ireland.
Through collaboration with state agencies, NGOs, and local communities, Nasc strengthens social cohesion and promotes positive integration outcomes. By addressing barriers and creating opportunities, we ensure that migrants can contribute meaningfully to society, making Ireland a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable place for all.
