Agrovesto
Organization Details
At Agrovesto, we're solving the fragmented supply chain system resulted from uneasy profitable market access and financial inclusivity experienced by smallholder farmers in Nigeria and Africa in general. There are over 40million of these farmers in Nigeria and more than 70% are in the rural communities. They produce over 80% of total food consumed, but are largely facing difficulty in accessing profitable market and affordable financial services to expand farming activities. As a company, we have built digital solution that enable smallholder farmers reach profitable market easlity, collect relevant data to unlock finance and providing warehpusing as a service for standard storage to provent food loss.
Impact Story
Agrovesto was founded with a mission to transform the agricultural landscape for smallholder farmers across Africa. We recognized the challenges farmers face such as limited market access, lack of financing, and significant post-harvest losses, we have built our model to create a more equitable and efficient agricultural value chain. The company leverages technology to empower smallholder farmers, enabling them to maximize their productivity, increase their income, and improve their livelihoods.
The traditional agricultural supply chain in Africa is fraught with inefficiencies, leaving smallholder farmers at a disadvantage. These farmers often rely on middlemen, who take a significant portion of their profits, leaving them with minimal returns despite their hard work. Additionally, poor access to timely market information, credit, and proper storage facilities leads to post-harvest losses of up to 30-40%. Agrovesto addresses these pain points by providing a digital platform that connects farmers directly with agro-processors, traders, and export markets.
Since its inception, Agrovesto has positively impacted over 20,000 farmers across 7 Nigerian states, helping them increase their earnings by up to 40%. By connecting farmers to better markets and providing them with the tools to succeed, Agrovesto is not just improving livelihoods but also contributing to food security in the region. Our partnerships with local cooperatives, warehousing solutions, and financial service providers further strengthen the agricultural ecosystem, ensuring a sustainable supply chain that benefits everyone involved.
Our commitment is to continue scaling our impact, aiming to reach 100,000 farmers by 2026, while fostering long-term agricultural sustainability and prosperity.
