Organization Details
Unique Foundation (UF), established in 2014 in The Gambia, is a charitable organization focused on improving access to education, healthcare, and social awareness for vulnerable children, youth, women, and rural communities. We provide free learning materials, study facilities, and mentorship to underprivileged students, and offer skills training to unemployed young people to promote self-sufficiency. With a strong partnership with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MoBSE), our projects aim to enhance educational quality and opportunities. In 2023, we expanded operations to Nigeria, continuing our mission across West Africa.
Impact Story
Unique Foundation (UF) exists to address the lack of access to quality education and essential resources for underprivileged children, youth, and women in The Gambia and Nigeria. Many children in these communities face barriers like financial hardship, lack of learning materials, and limited access to schools, particularly in rural areas. These challenges often lead to high dropout rates, poor academic performance, and limited future opportunities. UF was created to break this cycle by providing free learning materials, study facilities, mentorship, and skills training to ensure that vulnerable children and young people receive the support they need to succeed academically and improve their long-term prospects.
Our impact can be seen in the lives of those we serve. Through our education initiatives, we have helped many students stay in school, perform better academically, and develop essential life skills. Our projects, such as second-chance education and exam preparation classes, have empowered young people to complete their studies and pursue higher education or employment. Additionally, we have supported women and unemployed youth by offering income-generating skills training, enabling them to become self-sufficient. By partnering with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education in The Gambia and expanding our operations to Nigeria, we are continuously working to create brighter futures for underprivileged communities across West Africa.
