Organization Details
Women United provides educational, support, resources, programs and events for kinship caregivers (grandmothers raising grandchildren) in the Skyway/ West Hill community of Southeast Seatte. Women United facilitates Grandma's Hand Sewing Classes to promote social activies to prevent isolation. Various events throughout the year to promote outreach and community engagement. Creating family inclusion and healthy aging for Kinship caregivers.
Impact Story
Women United exist to be a beacon in the community to shine a light on Grandmother raising grandchildren. Women United has had apositive impack on Kinship caregivers, the families and the communty. This is reflected in Media coverage such as newsparper articles, speaking engagements and community awards.
