One Smile Effect is Turkey's first youth-led mental health organization. Founded in 2020, OSE is dedicated to supporting youth wellbeing with free and accessible resources worldwide.
Impact Story
One Smile Effect was created as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to a UNICEF report, nearly 50% of teens felt anxious or depressed during the initial 2020 quarantine, but only 2 out of 5 asked for help. These findings motivated Turkish mental health advocate Elif Kaya to connect young people and foster social togetherness amongst them. Since 2020, OSE has impacted over 3,000 young people from 60 countries.
