Rural Beacon Initiative seeks to advance community ownership in a new clean energy economy through strategic leveraging of relationship expertise and innovative technology.
For the better part of a decade, we have cultivated community relationships through grassroots organizing. RBI has cultivated relationships in frontline communities and recently provided consulting services with top green energy finance leaders around operationalizing equity and climate environmental justice. RBI will develop and model connecting communities in a way that is scalable and equitable across the Southeast.
Impact Story
Rural Beacon Initaitive seeks to address a growing climate crisis by expediting the deployment of clean energy technology and sustainable solutions in LMI and BIPOC communities. As an organization our mantra is to "create owners not customers" in the emerging clean economy, by leveraging unique financing models that faciliate community ownership of project resources and direct premiums for community members. Our network consists of a powerful blend of financing partners, tech pioneers, and community advocates pulled together to advance climate and environmental justice by leveraging capital to invest in the frontlines. Our portfolio consists of solutions at the intersection of clean energy, sustainable agriculture, and affordable housing.
