Social Impact Project for Veterinarian

How This Works

As part of the TRANSFORM Support Hub, you will learn how to advance your career while getting hands on experience on projects like this one.

Project Description and Impact

We are looking for veterinarians who want [to make] a change!

We operate a stray animal recovery center in the foothills of the Himalayas near Dharamsala, India. We treat injured and sick stray dogs, cows, horses, cats, and any other animal we can help.

We are looking for veterinarians who can help treat animals on site, train our staff in better medical techniques, and streamline our stray dog sterilization program.

Great for people with medical skills! Interested but not the right length? Like our organization and have an idea how your skills can help us? Message us at: match@movingworlds.org

Learning Opportunity

Experteers get an opportunity to learn about shelter management, working in rural settings, and in a different culture. There is also room to learn about farming and gardening in their free time.

Accommodation

We can either host experteers in our community house (shared rooms, 2 people per room) or arrange for accommodation in the village.

Food Stipend

We provide 3 vegan meals per day and chai.

Additional Benefits

We give people a chance to see Dharamsala while making a difference. Our staff and residents are knowledgeable about the area, and can help arrange transportation and give directions. We have community spaces with a library, a clothing and book exchange, and wifi. Experteers also get an opportunity to meet locals and share their culture.
