Description and Impact

Role overview

The project aims to improve and increase access to employment opportunities and promote economic empowerment for youths. The private sector engagement and entrepreneurship center development expert will work with Corporate Volunteers to establish, maintain and strengthen relations with private sector so that LZYE trainees can access apprenticeship, internships, trainings and possible jobs.
The expert will also train and advise Youth/Youth groups on various Entrepreneurship topic as well as supporting VETA staff by building their capacity on establishing and running an entrepreneurship hub/center. 
Beside this the successful candidate will advise, encourage and coach youth with the aim to empower them on owning and starting their own business.


Success of the project will be measured by the following KPIs:

  • Increased number of students are accessing industry facilities for apprenticeship/internship;
  • Increased specialized linkages between industry and workshops is;
  • Number of companies willing to accept trainees for internships and mentorship is increased;
  • Number of training sessions conducted to instructors or vocational training centre managers is increased;
  • Number of established entrepreneurship hubs is increased;
  • Number of sessions conducted to the youth/youth groups is increased;
  • Number of youth/youth groups managed to start their own business is increased.

These KPI’s can be subject to change if deemed necessary by manager or employee, always in collaboration.

Professional Qualification and experience


  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business management, Social science, Entrepreneurship, Livelihoods, Economics or relevant field. 
  • Experience coaching or mentoring of entrepreneurs 
  • Experience in small & medium entrepreneur development
  • A good understanding of business operations 
  • Background of fundraising and marketing to raise profile for organizations 
  • Practical experience in agro-based value chains
  • Experience in building relationships, networking and negotiating contracts 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience
