Description and Impact

The current website of our impact-driven incubator was designed, written and built when we first launched back in 2015 (way back when Jurassic World was released in cinemas!). Since then, the website has become cluttered, text heavy, and a poor user experience, so we've decided to give it some much needed TLC and a make-over!

The performance of our website is currently relatively low compared with our size and reach in other areas such as social media (27,000 on Facebook). We hope that with a complete refresh, we will be able to drive more traffic to our website, and therefore build new partnerships, expand our reach and connect with new beneficiaries, so that we can keep doing what we're doing and more! As an organisation we are also creating more program content online so that people across Cambodia can benefit, and so it's important that we strengthen our online presence.

So far, the team has developed a site map, and are currently in the process of writing the content and sketching simple designs for each page. We have access to a WordPress template to then build it. What we need help with is turning our site map and content plan into the actual website by building the structure, pages and features on WordPress. As the team has only basic knowledge of WordPress it would also be helpful to work with the Communication Manager to build up her skills to be able to effectively maintain the website going forward after the project ends. In addition, if you also have experience in website design, we would welcome feedback on the site map and user experience.

This project can be done completely from the comfort of your own home! If you are planning to visit Cambodia anyway, you are very welcome to work from our office.

By the end of the project we hope to have one complete and totally new website for our social enterprise, that is visually pleasing and has great user experience. The website will have 13-15 pages. In addition, the Communications Manager will feel confident in updating and maintaining the website using WordPress (beyond her current basic understanding).

Other requirements

Our ideal candidate will have prior experience in building websites using WordPress templates, and an enthusiasm for supporting social entrepreneurs in Cambodia through a very practical project.
