Opportunity Details

About us:

Located in Ollantaytambo, a historic town in Peru’s majestic Sacred Valley, between Cusco and the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu,We are a nonprofit social enterprise that empowers rural Andean women. We offer skills training that connects our women's cooperatives to global market opportunities and enables them to earn an income to transform their communities. With our help, Andean women sell their products to international retailers of ethically-sourced handmade goods. We also have a sustainable tourism program that includes a homestay association, a Spanish teachers’ cooperative, and community cultural tourism excursions to visit our weaving cooperatives. We celebrate the impact of our diverse community – the passionate volunteers, engaged donors, tourists and fair-trade shoppers that are collectively transforming people’s lives.

We Provide These Local Benefits

Since this is a remote opportunity, we might be able to cover some travel costs towards a trip to visit our NGO in Peru at the end of volunteering. At that time, we can offer you accommodation in our volunteer house. The Experteer will have the opportunity to be a part of a dynamic, rapidly growing nonprofit organization. Have the chance to gain new perspectives while interacting with our women's collectives and attending workshops and tours and first-hand experience developing insight into an international nonprofit and social enterprise.

You will be contributing to creating economic opportunities and improving social well-being for rural, Andean women and their families.

This opportunity accepts applications for virtual experteers.
