Organization Details
BiD Capital Partners is an impact investment advisory firm for East African SMEs. We support local entrepreneurs in attracting growth finance. Since 2006, we have supported 237 entrepreneurs in emerging markets with attracting investments from our global network of both private and institutional investors. We have a team of 12 people with offices in Kampala (Uganda), Kigali (Rwanda) and Amsterdam (The Netherlands) and will grow further in East Africa.
Impact Story
Our impact has different levels: First, we believe that our emerging market entrepreneurs are true Development Catalysts. With facilitating 237 investments, we have created thousands of direct and indirect jobs in emerging markets. They create bottom-up social and economic development by creating jobs.
Second, besides creating jobs, all the companies we work with need to have social impact, so we operate mainly in sectors such as renewable energy, agriculture, healthcare and fintech. Third, the majority of our companies are in the 'Missing Middle', which means that they have extreme difficulties in finding finace as they are too small for investment funds, but too large for micro finance and families and lack the collateral to be served by local banks.
