Be Open. Be Fearless.

The Guardian Activate Summit is a conference all about using technology to make the world better, yet not one speaker has a strong technical background – and for a very good reason:  technology isn’t solving the world’s problems, people are.

If you want to make an impact in the world, you must be open, and be fearless. And if you’re using technology to make a bigger difference, faster, the key to your success has very little to do with the technology you use, and everything to do with your open and fearless mindset.

No matter how you focus your efforts to improve the world around you, taking a step back to analyze your mindset will pay dividends in the long run. Not sure if you have the right mindset and capabilities? Try rating yourself on a scale of 1 to 5 in the following categories:

1. I have the connections I need to make an impact

2. I understand the networks and partnerships that already exist that are driving social good, and how to tap into them

3. I have the information and knowledge I need about the global development space in order to make things happen
