Project Description and Impact

We need to develop a monitoring and evaluation tool to assess our sustainable development solution and its impact.

In West-Africa we are struggling for a better world for marginalized people - particularly in Togo. At our organization, we believe that our communities are still in poverty and underdeveloped because they are lacking a solution based on their needs and daily realities that is sustainable. So our organization is working to find out a right solution to support sustainable development here in Togo.

Based on our practical experience in the past years, and following the definition of our growth plan in 2017, we are implementing presently a development solution that takes local needs into account. This solution is integrating key elements of our local realities such as religion and traditional environment with education and training. We are expecting international partners to assist us with skills and support.  We want the solution to take in account young people education, local organizations, and capacity building and peace building elements among others.

On this path towards realizing our model, we have missed some partnership opportunities and are not enough able to maintain a good relationship with local actors. We're seeking support to figure out how to correct our previous mistakes, identify the issues in our engagement plan, and make sure we're creating things for the right audience to make it easy for stakeholders to understand our solution.

In order to engage young people, local marginalized changemakers and entrepreneurs, and international volunteers and partners in our solution we need to develop a monitoring and evaluation tool to assess the impact of the solution and assure its efficiency and effectiveness for ongoing management.

We would like to work on this solution with an experteer who has a broad experience in sustainable development.

Learning Opportunity

Opportunity to practice human-centered design in developing a monitoring & evaluation system that meets our organization's/ the community's needs. Gain hands on experience with a grassroots social enterprise.

Accommodation

The Experteer will be accommodated in a guesthouse with a private bedroom. The room has its own bathroom. We could accommodate either one individual or one couple. The office workplace is also inside the guesthouse which is located in the safe Airport area. Many restaurants, hotels and facilities are around and accessible.

Additional Benefits

This is a good opportunity for the Experteer to experience Africa. We could guide you to experience Africa and particularly a West-African country called TOGO with its sandy Atlantic coast, its local way of life, local meals, local clothing. Meet local people and live as simple as walk to shop at the community local markets.

Free-time activities could be organized like hiking sports, swimming or museum, zoo, African crafts and folk discovery to put you at the heart of our culture. If you decide to discover the countryside and natural parks and zoo, the villages of the hinterland, we could help you arrange it… surely you will love the rural mountains regions and their landscape and small waterfalls: ready for a trek experience? It is possible too.

Evening relaxation would be a particular moment to let away the stress of the working day and to build friendship, a privileged moment to discuss with others about what matters to you... and if you like it why not a Yoga class for beginners (an exchange or simple introducing to the yoga and practicing some positions for beginners), or would you prefer a local native language study such as Ewe? It is up to you, you are welcome to our country Togo.
