Description and Impact

We are building a Global Teacher Movement

We are a global education social enterprise accelerating quality education by bringing together teachers from the most economically developed countries to provide training for teachers in contexts where people live on less than $5/day.

We mobilizeteachers from the UK, US and AUS to become Fellows and deliver face-to-face teacher development programs in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean. By providing professional development experiences for participants, and by connecting a disconnected world, We are building a global movement of well-trained, effective and empowered teachers.

Founded in 2011 we have grown (entirely bootstrapped) to where we are today, operating across 11 countries and providing in in person in service teacher training to over 3500 teachers.

Technology is at the centre of our strategy

Our technology platform is the center of our long-term strategy to support 1 million teachers by 2030. The teacher training programmes that we facilitate are run in person and are not based on technology.  But Tech is the crucial enabler for our approach.

Our vision for our web platform is that it is a user-centric platform where teachers can get inspired, apply to become Fellows and then be supported with all the right information as they go on their journey. In 2018, we are aiming to roll out a full self-service log-in area for fellows for the 6 months run up to their fellowship.

We have build our platform with deep Salesforce CRM integrations via SOAP and REST APIs and when a teacher applies our site a cascade of automated workflows are triggered and applications are triaged to the right ones of our 100 team leaders who then conduct interviews. We draw inspiration from e-commerce and travel platforms and we combine great video based media with a data-driven analytics approach to make smart decisions and optimize.
