Description and Impact

A volunteer required to take on the role of Project Director who alongside with the Board and Executive committee will help provide managerial and leadership support at the Kitega Centre. This is an exciting role and offers the volunteer a chance to work with a growing charity in sub - Saharan Africa, offering skills and expertise that will contribute to its growth and service delivery. Your work will contribute in building institutional capacity and strengthening the centre management. The volunteer will serve a full time management position overseeing operations, monitoring and evaluation of all centre activities. Kitega Community Centre is a Christian Founded entity; however we serve and involve all people without prejudice. Based in Uganda. Willing to commit atleast 6 months.

Deliverables

Kitega Community Centre in Uganda works to empower disabled and disadvantaged children, to advocate for disability rights, and to foster community-owned development. Their five-year plan (2013-2017) is to provide education and vocational skills to 100 disabled children and 100 orphans and to expand credit and entrepreneurial training to 600 families. KCC works with local communities and addresses key areas such as disability, women empowerment, poverty eradication and community capacity building.
